A Perfect Fall Day at Abby Hill Pumpkin Patch in Ottawa

A Family Visit to a Canadian Farm Offering Pumpkin Picking, Horse Riding, and More

About Abby Hill Farms

On a crisp autumn day, the Johnson family set out for a day of fun at Abby Hill, a local pumpkin patch in Barrhaven, south of Ottawa. As they pulled up to the farm, they were greeted by rows upon rows of vibrant orange pumpkins, just waiting to be picked.

The family made their way through the pumpkin patch, marveling at the size and variety of pumpkins on offer. From small, ornamental gourds to giant, 200-pound behemoths, there was a pumpkin for every taste and preference.

After selecting the perfect pumpkins, the Johnsons headed over to the farm stand, where they found a wide selection of other farm-fresh products. From crisp apples and juicy pears to honey, jams, and fresh-baked pies, there was something for everyone.

But the fun didn’t stop there. The farm also offered a number of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a corn maze, hayrides, and a petting zoo. The kids had a blast running through the twists and turns of the corn maze, trying to find their way out, while the adults enjoyed a leisurely ride through the fields on a haywagon.

In addition to the corn maze and hayrides, Abby Hill farm also offered horse riding and a train ride for the kids. The horse riding trail wound through the beautiful countryside surrounding the farm, providing a breathtaking view as they rode through the rolling hills. The train ride was a hit with the younger kids, chugging along a scenic track with stops at various points of interest around the farm. Both activities were a hit with the kids and added an extra element of fun to their already enjoyable day at the pumpkin patch.

As the day came to a close, the Johnsons left Abby Hill with their arms full of pumpkins and their hearts full of memories. It was a perfect way to spend a fall day and they couldn’t wait to come back next year.
